The Reasons You Need A Life Coach

Recently I read an article that touched on the top reasons that people don’t accomplish their goals.  I credit the article’s writers for making the case on the value and practicality of having a life coach.  Two of the reasons had a truly profound effect on me as a reader and as a coach. I was a bit stunned but not at all surprised that most people fail to accomplish their goals because they never actually get started  or they simply quit along the way.  In-other-words, they are either stuck on “E,” ore they run out of gas much sooner than later.  In either case that saddens me because those reasons can weigh heavy on the psyche of the participant potentially compounding existing feelings of inadequacy.  In other case, my motor got revved up and I grew even hungrier to help my clients to first get out of the starting blocks and into stride, second, to see my clients reach their goals.  Shortly after reading the article and being moved by it, I reached out to a client to make sure she understood the nuances of the plan she committed to.  I felt more like the father of a beloved child walking anxiously behind the child during their first bike ride without the training wheels.  I muddled through a mixture of deep-seated concern and jubilant celebration as my client articulated ger understanding of her commitment and reviewed the expected outcomes.  In either case I so enjoy the coaching process!  I get such a rush helping people pursue their goals.   I now realize that the past year that I spent with my therapist would have been best spent with a coach.   I would have benefitted from the goal outlining process much more than processing how I felt in response to certain things in my life.  I now know better and am compelled to do better-and better I shall be and do.
