One of the modules in the standard approach I use in coaching my clients is in urging them to be a little more deliberate in celebrating their accomplishments. I invite my clients to give their accomplishments the same fervor and consideration that they would their birthday. The idea is we have many more occasions to celebrate ourselves and our accomplishments than on one day a year. So, let’s license ourselves to whoop it up more often. I share with my clients that are no shortages of family and friends that could potentially join us. We all have a group of people that are always chomping at the bit to party and have a reason to eat good food and enjoy spirited drinks in the company of others. Let’s put that group on alert and engage them multiple times throughout the year. In-other-words, take decisive action to expand your support system. Use the extended support system and have some fun. Add more value to your life. The Psychological return on the investment will be huge. I’ve been trying to practice this a little more myself, personally. I print and hang certificates of my accomplishments in the areas of my home where I spend the bulk of my time-the bedroom and my office. Those postings remind me of what I can do, and they fuel me to want to have more reasons to post more certificates or other monuments of my momentum. So, I now have and benefit from the added motivation of striving to accomplishing my goals so that I get another certificate. That one piece of paper takes on a whole new meaning and the dividends it pays reach far into my future. To you my dear reader, I strong urge you to put this principle into practice for yourself. There’s bit of coaching for you…free of charge. Enjoy! the Happiest of New Years to you and your family.
